What is an apprenticeship?

At cHRysos, we believe that continuous professional development (CPD) is so important, and apprenticeships are a great way to help individuals grow, and develop their careers. Apprenticeships have been a key part of CPD for some of our staff, and Emily is sharing her experience as an apprentice.
Emily started with us at cHRysos as Business and Customer Support Officer, and is now completing a Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship.
What apprenticeship are you studying and why did you choose it?
I am currently completing a Marketing Executive apprenticeship. In my Business and Customer Support role, I assisted with some marketing activities, but I wanted to improve my marketing knowledge and an apprenticeship seemed like a great opportunity to do this. It is helping me to develop essential marketing skills which will help me to contribute more effectively in my role.
How has the apprenticeship helped you in the workplace?
Since starting the apprenticeship, I've gained knowledge and skills that I have been able to apply directly to projects at work. The apprenticeship has given me more confidence and my role has now expanded, so I am responsible for more of our marketing activities. So far, the apprenticeship has allowed me to take a more proactive approach in my role and I have been able to contribute towards ideas and future plans. I am looking forward to the rest of the apprenticeship!
